Driver Instructions: IMI Declarations

What is a Posting Declaration?

The Posting Declaration program is part of the EU Internal Market Information System (IMI).
It is used to exchange information between EU countries when inspecting transport companies and drivers’ posting conditions.
Inspections are carried out on the road and at company premises. Failure to have a valid declaration can result in fines of several thousand euros.

Every Friday, before departure, the driver receives the current IMI declarations by personal email. It is very important to check that these documents have been received and are accessible. New declarations are sent before each new posting.

How inspections are carried out?
At the border or during roadside checks, inspectors use a digital platform to verify the data. The driver must provide access to their declaration electronically.

Driver tips
– Always check the availability of declarations before departure
– Save the declaration files of the countries you will be driving through in advance
– Make sure you can access the declarations from your mobile device
– Ensure that the vehicle number you are driving is listed in the declaration — it should appear in the list and is usually marked as MAIN
