Driver’s operational procedure and responsibility

  1. What’s driver’s salary and how is it calculated?
It depends on the line and truck tractor specifics.
  2. What’s driver’s operational schedule and procedure?
The schedule shall at all times be set before the work starts.
  3. What are driver’s routes?
Local; international and across relevant countries.
  4. What truck tractors and semi-trailers are used?
Swap, two-axle tractors, tents, boxes, link.

  6. How do I know if the cargo is an ADR cargo?
If the cargo documents do not contain any UN numbers, it’s no ADR cargo.
  7. My tablet/phone does not operate. What should I do?
First try to reboot your device. If rebooting does not help, please call our single phone number +370 527 20 507, select ‘Technical Department’ and, having heard through the menu, select ‘Tablet/Phone Help’.
    You can also contact Aleksandr directly (at +370 640 79849, +370 615 32463).
  8. Do I need to take the tachograph card out during my lengthy weekly rest?
Yes. During your lengthy weekly rest, you must take the tachograph card out.
  9. I am having problems with the truck tractor. Who should I call?
Drivers often only inform their manager of any technical malfunctions they’re facing because they don’t know how to contact the Technical Department.
A kindly reminder: if you face any technical malfunctions, contact the Technical Department directly – to do that, call our single phone number +370 527 20 507 and select the relevant menu item.
  10. Do I need to open ADR plates when carrying a ‘Limited Quantity’ cargo?
No. If your ADR cargo does not exceed the 1000-point limit, you don’t need to open ADR plates.
  11. I have to load and unload the truck by myself. What should I do?
Please inform your manager to that effect. You must also fill in the ‘Manual Loading / Unloading’ form in Fleethand.
  12. I’m facing an axle overload. What should I do?
Immediately inform your manager to that effect. Furthermore, it is important not to wait for any additional instructions and immediately ask the consignor to re-distribute the cargo so as to eliminate the overload.
Having noticed an overload after loading, drivers often only inform their manager and take no action. However, the problem is commonly resolvable then and there – it is important to let freight handlers know about it right after loading.
  13. When will the expenses be refunded?
Expenses are normally refunded together with the salary payment.

Procedure:
• A driver creates an expense entry in the ‘Expense Forms’ section.
• Their manager checks the accuracy of the information provided and the correctness of the filled form.
• Their manager approves or rejects (specifying the reason for rejecting where applicable) the expenses.

Approved expenses may be refunded before the salary day, if a driver files a separate request to that effect (simply specifies that they would prefer getting the money right now, in their tablet).

14. Why do petrol stations change so often?
Petrol stations change daily because of the fluctuating fuel prices.
The locations we select are the most cost-effective option in terms of the final prices given the applicable discounts.
On the panel, drivers see standard prices without discounts, this is why they may have an impression that fuel is cheaper at other petrol stations.
Decisions are taken based on the actual price offered to our company.

15. For how many hours a day can I drive a vehicle?
9 hours a day, and 2 times a week – 10 hours a day.

Stop your operations and fill in tachograph’s printed sheets or perform manual registration. Please inform your transport manager to that effect.

18. Who is responsible for cargo attachment?
The driver because it is the driver who carries the cargo and must ensure its secure attachment. If the cargo is not properly prepared, the driver may refuse to start the trip until the violations have been eliminated by the freight forwarder.

Yes, in the EU, breaking the rules is only allowed to the extent it is done for safety purposes.

20. What are driver’s required actions when carrying wastes?
Table A must be opened in front of the tractor and behind the trailer. If table A is missing in front of the tractor or behind the trailer, report your manager to that effect.
If table A is missing in front of the tractor, take a white A4 sheet, write a large-character “A” and place it behind the windscreen, so that it is visible from the outside.
When carrying wastes, when loading, you must also obtain a document titled ANNEX IV.

21. May I take a 24-hour pause during my first days off (after I’m back from my vacation)?
Yes, it does not constitute a violation of the work and rest pattern.
If you have any questions, please contact the instructors – they will provide you with detailed explanations.

22. Who is responsible for filling in the CMR
Filling in the CMR is driver’s responsibility, rather than consignor’s.
If during an inspection a fine for the incorrectly filled CMR is imposed, the fine shall be paid by the driver.

23. I’m unable to reach the parking area specified by my manager. What should I do?
If you cannot reach the parking area specified by your manager, you must send the relevant message to your manager in advance (1 to 3 hours before), and your manager will find a closer parking lot for you.
After 4:00 pm (European time), if your manager doesn’t answer your message, call them directly because your manager might have already left the office and have no access to messages.
Stopping “on the road” is strictly prohibited.

24. Is it necessary to mark the tasks in the tablet on time?
Yes, it is necessary.
When you arrive at the place of loading, record your arrival in your tablet right away.
While you’re waiting for the loading to start, mark the relevant status.
When the loading starts, make sure to mark the relevant task complete in your tablet.
Perform the same actions at the place of unloading.

25. If upon unloading the consignee does not return the additional documents, is it necessary to report this to my manager?
If at loading a CMR and additional documents were received, you must ask to return them back after unloading as well.
If the consignee refuses to return the additional documents, report this to your manager and wait for their instructions.
Upon unloading, you must scan not just the CMR, but also all additional documents received, using your tablet.
