Medical Emergencies Due to Acute Disease in European Union Countries

  1. Assess the situation.
  2. Notify your assigned manager immediately that medical attention is required. Your manager will direct you to the nearest medical facility.
  3. Bring your identification documents and insurance policies with you. If you’re unable to find them, please contact the HR department.
  4. Present your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) and ERGO insurance certificate to the healthcare provider.
  5. If the medical facility requests a letter of guarantee for treatment coverage, promptly inform both your manager and the HR department.
  6. After examination or receiving treatment, use available messaging apps tools (e.g., Viber, WhatsApp). to send the following information to the HR department:

a. Date, time, and country of the medical visit;

b. Details of the treatment facility;

c. Diagnosis;

d.Medical documents;

e. Receipts and prescriptions.

7. Visit the HR department upon completion of your assignment

Note: In cases of acute dental pain, insurance coverage is provided up to €200. Payment is typically made in cash. If the cost exceeds this amount, you may apply to the Lithuanian State Patients’ Fund for reimbursement of the remaining amount.
