{"id":728,"date":"2026-03-23T14:12:03","date_gmt":"2026-03-23T12:12:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/driverscargogo.programming.lt\/?post_type=docs&#038;p=728"},"modified":"2026-03-31T15:34:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T12:34:11","password":"","slug":"instructions-for-issuing-a-tachograph-card-in-lithuania-for-third-country-nationals","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/driverscargogo.programming.lt\/en\/docs\/instructions-for-issuing-a-tachograph-card-in-lithuania-for-third-country-nationals\/","title":{"rendered":"Instructions for issuing a tachograph card in Lithuania for third-country nationals"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221; woodmart_inline=&#8221;no&#8221; text_larger=&#8221;no&#8221;]<strong>Who issues the cards?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In Lithuania, driver tachograph cards are issued by the Lithuanian Transport Safety Administration (LTSA).<\/li>\n<li>The card is required for all professional drivers operating vehicles equipped with digital tachographs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Who can apply? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An individual working as a driver (including third-country nationals) who possesses:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; A valid residence permit in Lithuania;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; A valid driving licence;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; A valid driver\u2019s qualification certificate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required documents <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To obtain a tachograph card, the following documents must be submitted:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An identity document: passport or residence permit in Lithuania;<\/li>\n<li>A valid driving licence;<\/li>\n<li>A photo (if the application is not submitted electronically);<\/li>\n<li>A completed tachograph card application form (available at LTSA offices or online);<\/li>\n<li>A certificate confirming that the applicant does not have a valid tachograph card issued in their country of origin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NOTE REGARDING THE CERTIFICATE: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The document must be:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Issued no more than 3 months prior;<\/li>\n<li>Legalised and certified with an Apostille;<\/li>\n<li>Translated into Lithuanian and officially certified by a sworn translator.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>A valid driver\u2019s qualification certificate;<\/li>\n<li>Proof of payment for the state fee (can be paid in advance or on-site).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>When can the card be ordered?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The application to renew a tachograph card must be submitted no later than 15 working days before the card\u2019s expiry date. Applications submitted later are considered new card requests.<\/li>\n<li>A new card can be ordered up to 90 days before the expiry of the existing card.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to submit the application?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Electronically (recommended):<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the LTSA e-services portal: e.ltsa.lt<\/li>\n<li>Complete the online tachograph card application form;<\/li>\n<li>Attach the required documents (and a photo, if necessary);<\/li>\n<li>Pay the state fee online.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>In person:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Visit one of the LTSA offices (Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaip\u0117da, \u0160iauliai, Panev\u0117\u017eys);<\/li>\n<li>Submit the required documents and fill in the application form on-site;<\/li>\n<li>Pay the state fee on-site or online prior to the visit.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>What information must be provided in the application?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Personal details and contact information;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Driver\u2019s licence details;<\/li>\n<li>Choice of how the card will be received (by mail or at the LTSA office).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>State fee<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The state fee (as of 2025) is approximately \u20ac43 for a new card.<\/li>\n<li>The card\u2019s validity period is 5 years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>When and where to collect the card<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The tachograph card is issued within 15 working days.<\/li>\n<li>The applicant can choose to:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Collect the card at an LTSA office, or<\/li>\n<li>Receive it by post at the specified address.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221; woodmart_inline=&#8221;no&#8221; text_larger=&#8221;no&#8221;]Who issues the cards?
