ECO DRIVING MEMO<\/p>\n

  1. Take off slowly, then speed up smoothly and evenly using Max 50% of the accelerator pedal travel, within the cost-effective rotational speed limit (900-1,200\u00a0RPM).<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Your goal is to reach the top gear in a fast and efficient way. Do not feed in excessive power.<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Maintain the optimum cruising speed of 80-82\u00a0km\/h.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      While maintaining the optimum cruising speed, you have more opportunities to use the cruising gear, at the permissible speed, and the engine is therefore operating at a lower rotational speed, which allows consuming less fuel.<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Keep in mind that the vehicle is equipped with the PCC system that uses GPS data.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        PCC uses topography data both to optimise fuel consumption and customize the engine power to the operational conditions. PCC scans the road ahead, which enables using cruise control on flat lands and in the mountains (without interfering into its operation). Please remember that the ECO ROLL feature operates if CC and LIMITER are enabled. There are five saving levels (five checkmarks). Aim at maintaining a steady vehicle speed.<\/p>\n

          \n
        1. Avoid unnecessary braking.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Utilizing the engine brake in an efficient way is crucial. Using the engine brake for braking, we cut the fuel feed. When braking, engine\u2019s rotational speed may reach up to 1,700\u00a0RPM. For PACCAR MX-13, the engine brake\u2019s power is at least 360\u00a0kW at 1,200\u20131,500 RPM. We save brake pads and discs, but most importantly, we save fuel. You must assess the road topping and braking power when it\u2019s cold, raining or when the rods become icy.<\/p>\n

            \n
          1. Do not use the KICKDOWN feature (push the accelerator pedal all the way down).<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            This feature may cause a downshift by one or more gears, thus raising the engine\u2019s rotational speed. This in not cost-effective! This feature is for emergency cases.<\/p>\n

              \n
            1. Aim at avoiding idle running of the engine to warm it up before taking off: while running idle, the engine doesn\u2019t warm up to its operating temperature, so we are just wasting fuel in vain. Start moving, smoothly speed up to the cruising speed, and the engine will warm up to its operating temperature at a low RPM.<\/strong><\/li>\n
            2. Before a trip, check the technical state of your truck tractor and semi-trailer o make sure air doesn\u2019t leak from the braking system.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Check the state of batteries (electrolyte level, density), keep the space around terminals clean. Check the tyre pressure at all times. This also affects fuel consumption.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
